A simple and extremely economical method of effectively
controlling machinery vibration, shock and acoustic noise. Moulded from
rubber with a cross-ribbed section, Silentbloc vibration control pads
act as energy absorbers, enabling large, horizontal forces to be generated
without spillage or walking occuring. They can substantially reduce structure
borne acoustic noise caused by vibration being transmitted in sheet metal
components, pipes, ducts, beams, walls and floors. They can be used on
the floor, wall or ceiling.
Made from oil resistant elastomer, they are supplied
in 300mm x 380mm sheets, 10mm thick before loading. The sheets can be
easily and quickly cut to the required size with a sharp knife or hand
sheers.
Installation
For optimum performance, the standard pads should be
loaded at 350kPa (3.6kg/cm2) the pad can usually be cut out to follow
the contour of the mounting feet. Because the pads absorb the horizontal
vibration, it is not, in most instances, necessary to use the tie down
or log bolts, however it is wise to leave a 7mm overlay around the feet
of the machine. If bolting is required, rubber tubing and steel washers
should be used to prevent any transmission path for the vibration. If
the weight of the machine is not evenly distributed, the pads should be
sized and placed according to the machinery weight distribution.
